SC Allows Podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia to Resume his Podcast

The apex court on March 3 has permitted Youtuber Ranveer Allahbadia to resume his podcast on social media. Previously, the court asked him to discontinue the podcast after he was found guilty of passing crass remarks on Samay Raina's YouTube show.

The court’s remarks came after the YouTuber said in his petition that this is his only source of livelihood.

Allahbadia got embroiled in a controversy after passing crass remarks on the YouTube show ‘India's Got Latent’. The remarks led to public outcry followed by multiple FIRs against the YouTuber.

Additionally, Allahbadia and Ashish Chanchlani separately appeared before the Maharashtra Cyber to record their statements, an official said.

He said, “In his statement, Allahbadia admitted that he made a mistake by making controversial comments on the YouTube show, for which he is being criticised.”

Notably, Allahbadia told the officials that Samay Raina was his friend and he had gone to the show only for the latter. He did not charge anything for the show.
